Yamba
The town of Yamba lies at the mouth the Clarence River on its southern shores and is growing as an increasingly
popular tourist destination. Its ever-growing population has, in fact, been reputed to triple in size during the holiday period. Yamba's charm and beauty lies in its fine weather, great beaches with Norfolk pines, trendy restaurants and cafes, relaxed lifestyle and friendly community which compliment the town's picturesque lighthouse, river, marina and fishing fleet. Things to See and Do
The Clarence River can serve as a host for various forms of activities ranging from white water rafting, jet boating and kayaking for adrenaline lovers to river cruises using a hire boat or houseboat. The beaches at Yamba are a great place for surfing with waterways which make for good diving. The rock pool at Yamba Beach, in particular, is excellent for swimming. Visitors can also go fishing in the miscellaneous fishing spots, go for a ferry trip across the Clarence to Iluka, play a round of golf at the Yamba Golf and Country Club or indulge in some fine seafood cuisine especially the town's locally farmed oysters. The nearby towns of the Clarence River Valley are also worth a visit particularly Angourie for surfers searching for legendary breaks or Iluka which is popular with fishermen and nature enthusiasts.
