Communities and stations located within a 600km radius of Alice Springs are serviced by the local Royal Flying Doctor Service base. Tours are run every half-hour and include a 10-minute video and a walk through a control room as well as the museum with historical displays. Housed within the original communications base is a cafe while gifts can be purchased from the souvenir shop, the proceeds of which go towards running the base.
