Montville

Montville is a historic mountain village which is part of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and is located

on a ridge midway between Mapleton and Maleny.

Montville has become a popular tourist destination and many visitors travel to the charming village to see the many lovely cottages and houses which have been restored.

Things to See and Do

Montville features various restaurants, tea rooms, art and craft and pottery galleries, herb gardens, gift and souvenir shops as well as a heritage trail to guide visitors around the village.

About three km north of Montville lies the scenic Kondilla Falls National Park which have good picnic areas and walking trails with the highlight being spectacular waterfalls which drop 80 metres into the rainforest valley.

Montville Hotels and Accommodation

There are several up-market guesthouses, resorts and bed and breakfasts on the mountain including the Montville Mountain Inn which lies in the centre of the village. The luxurious Genfield Boutique Guesthouse with its landscaped gardens, pool and tennis court, lies about four km west of Montville.

Getting to Montville

For visitors traveling by road from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, take the Glasshouse Mountains exit off the Bruce Highway and turn left at Landsborough before take the scenic drive to Montville.

Travelers from the Sunshine Coast or north can access the Hinterland either through Nambour or Palmwoods before following the signs to Montville.

The closest airport is the Maroochydore airport where regular domestic flights from Melbourne and Sydney are scheduled.
