Located in the heart of St Kilda along the Esplanade is Luna Park, whose familiar giant laughing face, also known as "Mr Moon", at its entrance has become a iconic symbol of the lively seaside suburb since 1912. The old-fashioned amusement park is home to a collection of adrenaline inducing rides as well as a variety of games while stalls selling food and refreshments are conveniently located nearby as are souvenir shops where visitors can purchase T-shirts, caps, balloons and show bags. Luna Park also boasts the historic Scenic Railway, the park's original roller-coaster built in 1912 that still runs today on wooden trestles which has the distinction of being the world's oldest operating roller-coaster.
