Lorne

The beautiful seaside town of Lorne is built along the Erskine River and is nestled between the shores

of Loutit Bay and the cool Otway forests. Years ago, the area was declared an area of ’special significance and natural beauty’ by the Victorian government. Many of these natural features are still present in the town today.

Things to See and Do

For over a century, Lorne's Mediterranean feel and stunning scenery has been drawing visitors who arrive to enjoy the mild weather, cafes, shops and boutiques in the charming town which has become one of the Great Ocean Road's most popular tourist destination.

Visitors can also take a stroll along Lorne's sandy white beaches in the north as well as its reef and rock pools to the south. Surfers can hire bodyboards and wetsuits or enroll for surfing lessons from the local shops.

Other places of interest in Lorne include the walking tracks through the Otway Ranges, Qdos Arts with its unique architecture and unique exhibitions and the scenic Erskine Falls with its viewing platform.

Lorne Hotels and Accommodation

A huge range of Lorne accommodation options are available for bush and beach enthusiasts ranging from cottages and bed and breakfasts to lodges and camping grounds. Most places will require a minimum two-night stay and prices are likely to rise during the summer months.
