Coogee has a more relaxed atmosphere compared to Bondi Beach up north and its attractive beach is enclosed between cliff-like, green-covered headlands. Cafes line the beachfront Arden Street while shoppers can head to Coogee Bay Road, just uphill from the beach. Also nearby is grassy park offering free use of its barbecues, picnic tables and shelters. Coogee Beach's main attraction are its baths located near the southern end. These include the secluded McIvers Baths that's used mainly by women and children as well as the more commonly used Wylies Baths that consists of a saltwater pool on the edge of the sea.
