Caloundra
Caloundra lies on the southern end of the Sunshine Coast and remains a popular holiday destination
for families looking for good beaches and excellent fishing. Caloundra is located at the northern entrance to the Pumicestone Passage opposite the northern end of Bribie Island on a low headland. Long-distance buses which bring visitors to Caloundra will arrive at the Caloundra Bus Terminal on Cooma Tce. The main town centre lies along Bulcock St where most of the major banks and post offices can be found. Things to See and Do
The main attraction at Caloundra are its beaches which range from long, sandy beaches ideal for surfing to small rocky coves and sheltered bays. The beaches, which spread along the headland and are separated by rocky coves and points, are backed by bunya pine trees and attractive foreshore parks. Bulcock Beach, in particular, located just down from the main street and overlooking the north end of Bribie Island, is a popular spot for windsurfing. Other attractions and activities which visitors may be interested in include the Queensland Air Museum at the Caloundra Aerodrome, the quaint Ettamogah Pub. Various operators also provide cruises around the channels or to Bribie Island.
