Bourke Street is Melbourne's main shopping area where most of the city's main department stores are located. Bourke St Mall itself is a pedestrian-only stretch located between Elizabeth and Swanston streets which is closed off to traffic. Buskers can be found entertaining crowds at various parts of the street while trams wade their way slowly through the crowds. On the corner of Bourke and Elizabeth streets is the GPO Building that's been refurbished to house several specialty stores and fashion boutiques. On the other of the mall is the Royal Arcade. Established in 1870, it is Melbourne's oldest shopping arcade.
