The smallest of the four main bays in Magnetic Island, Arcadia encompasses two prominent bays on the island in Alma Bay and Geoffrey Bay. The Arcadian Life Saving Club patrols the beach at Alma Bay on public holidays and weekends which is favourite among locals and visitors for swimming. Near the Alma Bay beach are shaded picnic areas with barbecue equipment and children's playgrounds as well as convenient facilities such as changing areas and toilets. Anzac Day commemorations are also held annually at Alma Bay where real-life soldiers land at dawn onto the beach, re-enacting the significant historical events of the past. Further south at Geoffrey Bay, fishing and shell-collecting are prohibited due to its status as a Marine National Park Zone. Activities here include snorkelling in the reef surrounding the bay, exploring the colourful Moltke Wreck at the northern end or feeding rock wallabies at the old barge jetty at dusk.
